The South West Chiefs conference has distanced itself from separatist fighters. In a press conference, executives of the body stated that allegations of their association with Ambazonians is unfounded. They added that they stand for a ten state decentralised system of governance.

Some contractors in Meme Division in the South West region say it will not be possible to effectively execute their projects owing to insecurity. On the contrary, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Division, Chamberlain Ntou’u Ndong has threatened administrative sanctions for those that will not execute their projects.

Parents and guardians in Cameroon are taking precautions not to expose children to unhealthy eventualities during this holiday. Given several cases of rape and other sexual abuses in Cameroon of recent, some parents say minors on holiday are assigned to carry out indoor chores while bigger ones are permitted to carry out small businesses to raise funds for back to school.

Several families are homeless at New Bell quarter in Douala following a fire incident yesterday. The flames consumed six houses. Locals say the fire ignited from a gas bottle. Most occupants of the houses were refugees from Central African Republic.

Inhabitants of Douala say the city council has not derived a sufficient method to fight against floods in the City. This was after enormous material damages were incurred in floods in some parts of the city today.

Members of the National commission for the promotion of bilingualism and Multiculturalism say after the sensitisation phase against the use of hate speech, sanctions will be meted on those who will still continue with such behaviour. Some of the members held a sensitisation meeting in Yaounde promising to take the campaign to Sub divisions.

A military officer was shot yesterday in Kumbo by separatist fighters. He was reportedly evacuated to Douala for medical treatment where he later died.

Sport Journalist Martin Camus Mimb was grilled by the police in Douala over his part in the sextape leak featuring teenager, Malicka Bayemi. His friend, Wilfred Eteki has equally been questioned by the police.

A transformer damaged in Babadjou, West Region has been replaced. The people of Babadjou had been in total darkness for weeks prior to the repair today.
