The South West Chiefs conference has distanced itself from separatist fighters. In a press conference, executives of the body stated that allegations of their association with Ambazonians is unfounded. They added that they stand for a ten state decentralised system of governance.

Some contractors in Meme Division in the South West region say it will not be possible to effectively execute their projects owing to insecurity. On the contrary, the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme Division, Chamberlain Ntou’u Ndong has threatened administrative sanctions for those that will not execute their projects.

Parents and guardians in Cameroon are taking precautions not to expose children to unhealthy eventualities during this holiday. Several families are homeless at New Bell quarter in Douala following a fire incident yesterday. The flames consumed six houses. Locals say the fire ignited from a gas bottle. Most occupants of the houses were refugees from Central African Republic.
