Twitter users ‘drag’ Cabral Libii for challenging Kamto to political debate

Users of social media platform, Twitter have called out Cabral Libii, head of the Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation, PCRN political party for indicating willingness to debate against the MRC’s Maurice Kamto.

Libii took to his Twitter account hours ago where he said he had taken note of calls for the said debate to be set up.

“I reassure the author (of the debate idea), of my availability for this debate and even others against other leaders” he tweeted.

However, the post did not sit in well with some Twitter users who cited the politician as an instrument for division within Cameroon’s opposition.

“Such a debate is interesting. However, note that the challenger is the current president,” one user named Cedric wrote.

Another social media user said such a debate would be a misplaced priority: “If I understand you well, you are going to the National Assembly to ask Mr Maurice Kamto for a debate…”

Aged 42, Cabral Libii is one of many others to have stood up against President Paul Biya in a presidential election.

Yet, he has often come under public scrutiny with many calling him out for allegedly rubbing shoulders with the ruling class.
