Two killed in suspected Boko Haram attack in Far North

Residents of some localities in Cameroon’s Far North region are once more living in fear following growing attacks by armed men.In another attack last night, two were reported dead and four cars burnt to ashes.Government has since blamed the attack on the Boko Haram terrorist group that has been wreaking havoc in the region.During his 2018 election campaign, President Paul Biya announced that the group had been defeated on and pushed out of Cameroon soil. The sect’s defeat in Cameroon has however not stopped it from making several incursions from Nigeria where it is based. With the recent waves of attacks, many are expressing doubts on how effective the country’s armed forces will be in combatting the terrorists while at the same time fighting Ambazonian fighters in the restive North West and South West regions.MMI
