Two shot dead, houses set ablaze as military raids Oku

Residents of Ngembisa, a locality in Oku, Bui Division of the North West region say houses have been set ablaze and two civilians shot dead in an ongoing military raid.

“The military is currently burning houses in Ngemsiba – Oku after killing two civilians, Pilate and Ephesians” a local tells us.

“The sound of the gunshots” he says, “alerted the Amba fighters who then evacuated only for the military to arrived their camp to discover no one was there”.

Locals have since fled the vicinity for fear of being targeted by soldiers.

Human rights groups say hundreds of villages have been razed to ashes by soldiers in their duel with fighters clamouring for the state of Ambazonia.
