Two shot dead in Mankon as armed conflict rages on

Two boys in Alatako, Mankon in the North West region have been shot dead. The siblings, Tabah Fru and Tabah Nsoh sources indicate “were pulled out of their home and shot by the Cameroon military”.

The corpses are said to still be in a mortuary in Bamenda and will be buried on Saturday family members say.

The two boys’ death are just a few of several others resulting from the Anglophone Crisis that has left thousands displaced.

It remains unclear why they were killed but a source said “government has been targeting and eliminating male children and boys between 15-50 years of age”. Some of them have been engaged in gun battles with the military to protect “their land from the occupier and ensure the independent state of Ambazonia becomes reality”.

Government and Ambazonian fighters have always traded blames, accusing each other of carrying out rights Violations and atrocities in the regions concerned. International organisations estimate 3000 people have died as a result of the armed conflict in Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
