Two suspected human bone traffickers, apprehended in Souza

Two persons accused of human bone trafficking have been apprehended by the forces of law and order in Souza, Moungo Division in the Littoral Region.

They were reportedly apprehended by the Souza Police post after a bag full of dry human bones was discovered in their possession.

According to Didier, Police officer and head of the Souza Post, it all began when they received a tip, stating that three graves had been desecrated in the locality. While carrying out investigations during a night patrol, a vehicle with aluminum-zinc sheets was apprehended.

However, the suspected criminals failed to stop the vehicle at the request of the police. A chase ensued after which the suspects abandoned the vehicle and took to their heels.

Documents found in the car later served as evidence and provided directives that led the elements of the police to where the bones were often bought and subsequently, to the house of one of the traffickers. A search of the residence uncovered more dry bones belonging to two human beings in the ceiling.

The dry bones were seized by the police officers, while the accused has been charged.
