UBa lecturers to observe two day solidarity strike against insecurity

Lecturers of the University of Bamenda, UBa have decided to stage a two day strike.In a communiqué released by the National Union of Teachers of Higher Education, Synes, the teachers note that the decision comes after “unabated attacks and abduction of lecturers in spite of the efforts of the government to step up security at the apostolic junction, Bambui-Bambili, C-bend and hot zones onThis the communiqué adds is also ” against the mayhem of abductions, assaults and ransom payments”.The University of Bamenda it should be recalled has over the past weeks witnessed a series of attacks with some students and instructors of the institution abducted in different instances.Gunmen suspected of being Ambazonian fighters have also attacker the school several times.Administrative authorities have been called upon several times to beef security in the school and its environs by students and teachers say little or nothing is being done.
