UMS Loum Applauds CAF’s Samuel Eto’o Investigations.

The Union of Sports Movements (UMS) Loum has lauded the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to investigate the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) president Samuel Eto’o.

A few days ago, CAF announced that they were to investigate Samuel Eto’o over allegations of improper conduct.

According to CAF, the investigation follows written statements from several Cameroonian football stakeholders. The statements allege that Eto’o engaged in several unethical and corrupt practices during his time at FECAFOOT.

Among the various stakeholders who stood against the rule of Samuel Eto’o as president of the Cameroon Football Federation was UMS Loum.

In June 2023, the Cameroonian Football Club requested a 6-year suspension for Samuel Eto’o Fils. They made the request, highlighting the contract signed last May between the president of FECAFOOT and the sports betting company 1xbet.

The football club accused him of being in a “conflict of interest” following his contract with the 1xbet sports betting company.

“UMS Loum… welcomes this initiative that brings hope for the aftermath of Cameroonian football,” the club stated in a recent release.

They concluded by saying that they are awaiting the outcome of the procedure the Confederation of African Football started.
