The body of an unidentified young man was found dead at the Bamenda Regional Hospital Mortuary Junction in Cameroon’s North West Region, with the circumstances surrounding his death unknown at the moment.
This Tuesday morning, the body lay in front of a motorcycle repair garage near the mortuary, with no identification documents found on it. Witnesses say the deceased, who was wearing an earring, had been at the location since around 7:00 pm on Monday.
Those who saw the body said it showed no visible signs of violence, torture, or gunshot wounds. However, defecation was observed around the area where it was found, a detail that has drawn attention from onlookers.
Residents and people in the vicinity suggested the man may have taken an excessive amount of drugs, though no official confirmation has been made.
The incident adds to ongoing concerns about public health and safety in Bamenda, where unexplained deaths in public spaces often leave families and communities searching for answers.
