Unidentified corpses abandoned at Bamenda regional hospital

As cases of violence surge in the restive North West and South West regions of Cameroon, there are also several deaths unaccounted for. A viral statement by health workers at the regional hospital in Bamenda says, corpses have been abandoned at the mortuary, a majority, unidentified.

The bodies are said to have been brought into the establishment at different times by the forces of law and order.

The director of the Bamenda regional hospital Dr Denis Nsame in an announcement notes that they include the head of a 24 year old lady, a 2 days old baby, and other five male unidentified corpses with ages ranging from 23- 29years.

The military since the escalation of the Anglophone Crisis into an armed conflict has been accused of arbitrary arrests as well as extrajudicial killings, leaving the impression that they are responsible for the death of the abandoned bodies.
