corpse abandoned in Douala mortuary
The CEBEC Hospital in Douala has issued a public notice seeking assistance in identifying a deceased man who has been left unclaimed in its mortuary. The hospital has circulated a photograph of the unidentified man in the hope that a family member or someone who recognises him will come forward.
According to information obtained by MMI, the man was struck by a car near Carrefour Mutzig in Douala. Following the accident, he was transported to CEBEC Hospital at Gare Routière by members of the Cameroon army. Tragically, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away on August 15.
Since his death, no one has come to identify or claim his body from the Douala Mortuary. The man had no identification documents on him at the time of the accident, and despite the hospital’s efforts, his identity remains unknown.
In a last effort to find someone who knows him, the hospital has now made a public appeal, hoping that someone will recognize the deceased and help provide him with a dignified burial.
