University of Buea lays off Agbor Balla after Row over Examination Question

The contract of Bar. Nkongho Felix as an instructor at the University of Buea has been terminated. This is contained in a decision signed by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ngomo Harace Manga Wednesday May 6th, 2020.

The Vice Chancellor says the decision was taken by the panel of the disciplinary council that held on May 6th, 2020.Bar. Agbor Felix Bala was recruited as an instructor in the department of English Law at the University of Buea in 2015.

On Wednesday May 6th, he refused to attend a summon at the disciplinary council at the University on grounds that the summon didn’t follow the legal procedure.

He was supposed to answer questions for setting an examination question on the Anglophone crisis to students last semester.

The Human Rights lawyer is yet to react to the decision. He had described the summons as illegal and government’s manoeuvre to silent dissents
