Reports say Kim Potter, a police officer in Minneapolis, USA and Police Chief Tim Gannon have resigned.
DW reports that Mayor Mike Elliott said the City Council had also passed a resolution calling for the dismissal of both officers following the incident.
“I have loved every minute of being a police officer and serving this community to the best of my ability, but I believe it is in the best interest of the community, the department, and my fellow officers if I resign immediately,” reports quote a section of Kim Potter’s resignation.
The officers’ resignation comes after two continuous nights of protests despite a state of emergency.
