US Presidential Inauguration: Trump will be the first President to boycott inauguration since 1869

Joe Biden will be installed tomorrow Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 12pm as America’s 46th President but outgoing President Donald Trump has not changed his stance of boycotting the inaugural ceremony deemed to take place at the US Senate house, Capitol building.

Trump will be the first outgoing US President to boycott an inauguration since 1869 when former President Andrew Johnson did.

However, Vice President Mike Pence will attend.

NBC reports that Jimmy Carter, the US’s oldest living former president, at 96, and former first lady Rosalynn Carter will, however, not be there.

Meanwhile, first lady Melania Trump has already delivered a farewell speech to her American audience as her husband Donald Trump remains mute.

“The past four years have been unforgettable as Donald and I conclude our time at the White House. I thank atbe people I have taken home in my heart and their incredible stories of love, patriotism, and determination. I see the faces of young brave soldiers who have told me with love in their eyes how they love serving this country. To every service member and to our incredible military, you are heroes and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers,” Melania’s speech reads in part.
