Victoria United President Threatens to Fire Coach After 4-0 Defeat

Victoria United FC‘s president, Nkwain Valentine, has expressed severe dissatisfaction with the head coach, David Nganbe, after the team’s 4-0 loss to Panthère Sportive on December 22 at Limbe’s Centenary Stadium.

This defeat is particularly disheartening as it marks the club’s first home loss of the season.

President Valentine criticized Coach Nganbe’s tactical decisions, accusing him of unnecessary lineup changes and inadequate strategic planning.

He believes these contributed significantly to the defeat.

The president’s frustration is compounded by his previous concerns regarding the Centenary Stadium.

He has previously alleged that the venue possesses “mystical powers” that hinder the team’s performance, citing a series of winless matches at this location.

Despite these challenges, Victoria United had a promising start to the season.

It topped the unofficial classification of Cameroon’s Elite One league with four points from one win and one draw.

The recent loss, however, has prompted President Valentine to consider significant changes, including the potential dismissal of Coach Nganbe, to realign the team’s trajectory.

This happens amid ongoing controversies surrounding the club.

Nkwain Valentine previously engaged in disputes regarding alleged match-fixing and made bold claims about occult practices impacting the team’s performance.

These issues have sparked widespread debate within Cameroonian football circles.

As Victoria United prepares for upcoming fixtures, the club’s leadership faces critical decisions to address both on-field performance and off-field controversies.

The potential sacking of Coach Nganbe could signal a shift in the club’s approach as they strive to overcome setbacks.
