villages raided in Anglophone regions on Eve of National Dialogue

Several persons have been reported dead following fierce confrontations this weekend between the military and pro independence fighters.

Some villages were simply invaded by security forces, when locals were still asleep, Mimi Mefo Info has learnt.

Munyenge in the South West region was allegedly raided by members of the armed forces, which is the second time in less than ten days.

The military invasion Sunday September 29, 2019, is said to have targeted the bushes where indigenes of the village had fled to for safety.

Last week’s attack in Munyenge locals say, left five dead and nine more wounded, alongside burnt houses and business premises.

In Muyuka, several denizens either remained indoors or were seeking refuge in bushes. Soldier stormed Bafia where one person was reportedly shot dead, and about five others injured including women.

“It’s bloody this today sunday 29 sept in bafia in muyuka the military loyal to mr biya invaded this community early morning 5:30 and started shorting at civilians one person die at the spot and 5 others wounded mostly women,” a source narrated.

“Owe in Muyuka town was also attacked. One Amba fighter was killed,” another source told Mimi Mefo Info. His name is general Obi.

In Ediki, a village in Meme, two people were reportedly shot dead Saturday. A source reported that soldiers were invading the village for the second time this month of September. “We are all living in fear, is this they dialogue they are talking about?” the source questioned.

Donga Mantung in the North West Region was not spared.
“I write to you in tears at this moment. The military invaded AKWAJA village in Ako sub division in Donga mantung division in Northern zone of southern cameroon this today afternoon and they have burnt down the village. The number of casualties is still is still unknown as those who succeeded to run are still in the bush. Enormous material damage. This Akwaya is my village. These raids come barely a few hours to the much hailed national dialogue, leaving locals baffled at the discourse and the intentions behind it.
