Three persons were shot dead last night in Ngon, a locality in Mbengwi, Momo Division of the North West Region.
Sources say they were shot dead at Bokaro, a popular nightclub in the locality. Among the victims, was a fish seller known as Ngum, a police officer and a pork seller.
“It’s not clear who killed them,” a source explains.
It is however believed they were all victims of a gun battle between soldiers and separatist fighters.
Other sources say many persons were injured from the gun battle and are receiving medical care at the moment.
Last night’s incident is one of hundreds recorded over the past four years in Cameroon’s North West and South West regions. In addition to killings, abductions, kidnappings and torture, hundreds of villages have also been razed down as Government forces and Separatist fighters battle for control of the regions.
