The Ministers of Water and Energy Resources , Gaston Eloundou Essomba, and his counterpart of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachi are in the South West region as cholera cases in the administrative unit continue to surge.
Ministers Eloundou Essomba and Manaouda arrived the Regional capital of Buea earlier today.
They are expected to evaluate the cholera situation and proffer solutions. In Buea, they stopped at the Regional hospital where the Director, Dr Martin Mokake said just 14 cholera cases were left at the hospital.
The convoy also made two stops at Mile 16 Buea to evaluate water catchments suspected to have contributed to the outbreak.
The two Ministers are also heading to Limbe where hundreds of cholera cases were registered last week, with over 40 deaths.
At Mile 16 Buea, locals insisted they are not convinced that the popular Amen Water Catchment, built in 2010, has been contaminated as per evaluations made by health experts
