West Region: Man arrested for killing 88-year-old grandmother over 2000 FCFA

A man by the name of Tainform Clifford has been apprehended by the forces of law and order for killing an 88-year-old woman over 2000 FCFA in Bandjoun, a town in the West region of Cameroon.

Helene was discovered brutally murdered at her home on the night of April 11 to April 12, 2023.

It is reported that Clifford was an Internally Displaced Person who was harboured by the said grandmother during his stay in Bandjoun.

“Helene opened her doors to the young man not knowing he would someday have the heart to take away her life,” a source said.

He was captured three weeks later in Yaounde, Centre region of Cameroon, and brought back to Bandjoun where he confessed to having killed the woman for 2000 FCFA.

The young man has been placed in police custody and will be charged with murder.
