West Region: man butchers mother to death

A young man is reported to have butchered his mother to death in Balengou, West Region of Cameroon on October 19, 2022.

According to reports, the young man, with the use of an axe reportedly shattered the mother’s skull before taking to his heels.

Reports from the neighborhood indicate that he was seen a few days back sharpening a cutlass and an axe. They were however far from imagining that the young man bore such intentions at the back of his mind.

On October 19, that the old woman whose name MMI got as Agnès Ngongang was found in her pool of blood with an opened skull.

The motives for the horrible act are not known for the moment.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Officer of the locality opened an investigation, and according to preliminary information his first information, cannabis is believed to have been consumed in the house prior to the incident.
