West Region: Soldiers brutally beat up High School Teacher

A teacher at the Bangou Technical High School in Cameroon’s West Region has been attacked and brutally beaten up by government soldiers, MMI has learned.

He was attacked yesterday March 1, 2023, at a place known as “Tournant Z”, under unclear circumstances.

“They began by deflating all the tires of his car, and proceeded to break all his phones,” a source said.

It is not clear what the motive of the attack was.

The attack comes a few days after a teacher was stabbed to death by some elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) in the Far North Region.

It’s not clear whether the previous victim will get justice.
