Nestorine Boh, the wife of Cameroon separatist campaigner and veteran journalist Boh Herbert has died.

She died on Saturday, July 8, 2023, in a fatal accident in Maryland, United States of America, USA.

In a tweet, following the sad news, her husband Boh Herbert lamented as he confirmed what had hitherto been a matter of speculation.

“For 40 years, we loved & shared everything: joy, pain, disappointments. In sickness, in health; for richer, for poorer. We worked with whatever life threw at us. We were blessed to raise five amazing kids. God has called back my Queen, Nestorine. RIP, my love.” Boh Herbert tweeted.

Another close family relation said, “Good evening my family! I come to you this evening with great sadness and with a very heavy heart. On behalf of my family, I come to announce the sudden passing of my cousin’s wife- Nestorine Boh! She is married to our cousin Herbert Boh. She celebrated with us just last month in Punta Cana. She has been very active in this forum and many here socialized with her! We are completely devastated.”

A source states that the last she was seen in public was during a service held to commemorate the life of Cameroon’s legendary opposition leader Ni John Fru Ndi.

“The wife of Boh Herbert had a ghastly accident on her way back home in the US from a wake keep for Fru Ndi,” reported the source who added “She was driving alone. The car caught fire on impact and she was burnt in the car beyond recognition”.

Nestorine Boh was a little-known name in Cameroon.

However, her husband is a household name in Cameroon’s journalism world and the Anglophone Separatist movement.

Boh Herbert made a name on state broadcaster, radio Cameroon (as known at the time) in the early 1990s in debates leading to the return of multiparty politics in Cameroon. He fled to the US following persistent persecution by the Biya regime.

He joined the separatist movement and became the spokesman for the Movement for the Restoration of the Independence of Southern Cameroons (MoRISC), one of the numerous factions in the ongoing quest to create a new state called Ambazonia
