Woman and 6-year-old son found lifeless in Yaounde

The corpses of a woman named Marie Julie and her 6-year-old son were found lifeless in a home in the Nsimeyong II neighborhood, in Yaounde, Center Region of Cameroon.

The discovery was made on Friday, October 7, 2022. Their bodies were discovered lying on a mattress.

According to reports, the deceased had called one of her sisters the previous night, revealing that some men had stormed their home, seeking to kill their younger sister.

“After the conversation, she says she asked the deceased to meet her the next morning at her home for a family meeting, before making the macabre discovery. Was it murder or poisoning? Vomit was found near the victims,” reported ActuCameroon.

“A meal would have been consumed by the members of the house which sheltered the deceased and her 4 children, as well as one of her sisters and her two children. But only Marie Julie and her son are found dead,” they added.

The bodies of the deceased and her 6-year-old son were deposited at a mortuary. Meanwhile, an investigation has been opened by the police and the gendarmerie brigade.
