Woman, daughter crushed to death in Maroua accident

Three persons have been crushed to death on the Maroua-Kousseri axis, 7km from Maroua.

Reports say they were crushed to death by a truck heading to Kousseri that lost control on the Mikiri Hill.

In an attempt to regain control of the wheel, the truck is said to have overturned, crushing a lady, her 7-year-old daughter, and another passerby.

Other persons were injured and have been rushed to the Maroua Regional Hospital.

Among the injured is the second child of the lady who was killed alongside her daughter.

This is not the first time a deadly accident is reported on the 60KM stretch of road linking Maroua to Mora since it was completed.

Many have blamed the lack of speed breaks for contributing to the risk on the stretch of road.
