Yaoundé: 33-year-old businessman found dead, decomposing

The body of a 33-year-old businessman by name Hassan Souaibou was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in a neighborhood in Yaounde, Center Region of Cameroon.

The body was discovered on September 26, 2022, by a city resident, Marie Chantal, in a bush not far from her residence. Hassan had gone missing for close to three months.

“I arrived there to work when I saw a round object lying in the grasses. I thought it was a ball but when I cleared off the grasses I saw teeth. I then called my neighbor who came and affirmed it was the head of a human,” she narrated.

She went on: “As we continued clearing the grasses we realized it was the body of a human being.”

According to Naima, wife of the deceased, the businessman left the house for work some months back but never returned.

She said: “He left the house for work on a Tuesday at 8 a.m but never returned.”

“I thought it wasn’t true, I asked them to send me a picture of the corpse for me to confirm and they refused, telling me I would not recognize him,” lamented Naima.

The body was immediately ferried to the Bankomo cemetery for burial.
