Yaounde: 5-year-old battles for her life after surviving crash by a container trailer

A 5-year-old girl has narrowly missed death after a container fell off a trailer and landed under the bridge where she was. The trailer was headed to Total Fouda in Yaounde, in the Center Region of Cameroon.

The truck said to be on its way to offload its container fell off the bridge today Friday, January 27, 2023, with the little girl trapped underneath.

An eyewitness told MMI that “the population around successfully removed the child alive.” He did, however, observe that “she appeared to be caught between life and death.”

Law enforcement is said to have arrived at the scene soon after and helped get the girl out from under the weight of the container so they could take her to the hospital.

The current health situation of the little girl at this moment is yet to be determined by MMI.
