Yaoundé: allegedly poisoned, robbed by friend

A 22-year-old girl called Therese Ngo Ebog has lost her life in Yaoundé, in the Mvog-Betsi neighborhood after she was allegedly poisoned by her friend.

According to reports, the deceased girl invited her friend, Jenny Yemimah to come eat a local dish called Mbongo Tchobi, which she had prepared.

Therese’s friend, who is believed to have come along with poison is said to have used the opportunity while dishing the food out to pour the poison into the deceased’s plate.

After eating the meal, Jemimah, allegedly stole her friend’s phone and fled. She was However given away by a document she forgot behind which identified her.

Left alone in the room, Therese who started feeling uneasy wailed and screamed for help from her neighbors.

Her neighbors say when they got to her room, she was rolling on the floor in pains and saying her friend had just poisoned her.

She died a few minutes after being rushed to the hospital. The police were alerted, and an investigation has already been opened to shed more light on the issue.

Jemimah on her part continues to evade the forces of law and order.
