Yaounde: Anxiety grips students as names missing on exam list

At least 140 students of the Troisième, Première, and Terminale classes of the Mongo Beti College of Yaounde, center Region have remained disturbed over what they say is the absence of their names on the official examination list.

The concerned had raised concerns that, the list from theOffice du Baccalauréat du Cameroun, OBC, was without their names.

This comes as the physical phase of the 2022 session of the Baccalaureate exams remains underway.

However, school officials are said to have blamed the situation on the new method of paying exam fees electronically.

They are said to have stated that the “rumours” spread after the phase of the physical tests.

The school officials are further quoted as having contacted the management of Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun) in order to resolve the problem.

According to the OBC, the error was due to a technical fault with machines.

A new list of candidates for this year’s BAC exams from Mongo Beti College is said to have been established after the complaint.

Many are now waiting for the written phase of the exams to rumble off to b quite certain that the error will not resurface again.

To note that, such incidents are common across Cameroon when students and pupils sit in for certificate exams.

In some cases school officials have been indicted for embezzling the registration fee of some students.
