Yaounde Court begins hearing case pitting Sports Minister and his cook

A cook to Cameroon’s sports minister who has been in detention for over 16 months now will face trial today in Yaounde For allegedly stealing a sum of 110 million FCFA and some fuel vouchers worth 10, million CFA.

The case of Sports Minister, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and his cook began in May, 2019 when the minister said he noticed the disappearance of 110 Million FCFA and some fuel vouchers worth 10 million francs.

The minister acted upon suspicions and got his cook arrested by the police.

Further investigations by forces of law led to the further arrest of his driver too who is reported to have helped transport the cash out of the Minister’s mansion at the time.

The accused individuals have denied all the accusations however and remain locked up at the Yaounde Central prison.

The news of the minister and his cook got so many reactions from Cameroonians.

Many have suggested that in as much as the cook and his allies are being suspected, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi should answer for fact what that huge amount of money was doing in his private residence.

Many people think the money will not be in the Minister’s house if it were gotten legitimately.
