Cameroonian musician Longue Longue Involved in Public Scandal with Married Woman in Yaoundé

A dramatic public incident unfolded on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in the Mvog Atangana Mballa neighbourhood of Yaoundé after a married man discovered his wife in a car with popular Cameroonian musician Longue Longue.

According to witnesses, the woman had told her husband the previous day that she was travelling to another town. Her unexpected appearance shocked the husband, who spotted her by chance.

“The husband was at the market, to buy foodstuff to make some meal for the children when he surprisingly saw the wife,” a local source told reporters.

Viral Video Captures Heated Exchange

Footage of the confrontation has since gone viral online. The video shows the husband trying to pull his wife out of the red vehicle owned by Longue Longue. The singer, known for his controversial reputation, is heard repeatedly insulting the man.

“Your mother! Your mother!” the 49-year-old musician shouted at the husband in French, as a crowd began to gather.

Bystanders booed Longue Longue, criticising his lack of remorse during the tense exchange.

Not the First Time for Longue Longue

This is not the first time the Cameroonian musician has been linked to controversy. In 2005, his then-wife, Chantal Mbassi, filed a complaint accusing him of sexually assaulting her 17-year-old niece—a case that generated widespread media coverage at the time.

Despite the coverage, there was little done to hold the singer accountable.

As of publication, neither Longue Longue nor the individuals involved in the recent incident have released official statements.
