Nicolas Parfait Siki Awono, former interim secretary general of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), who was arrested and held in detention since November 2022, has been granted bail.
Parfait Siki on October 26 was arrested after he was accused by the President of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o of possessing the documents of the elective General Assembly of December 11, 2021, in which he was elected as president of the football governing body.
A week later, Parfait Siki was taken to the Yaoundé Central Prison- Kondengui.
According to reports, he was granted bail today by Judge Gilbert Schlick.
Parfait Siki was a journalist with a number of media organs, before during and after his time at FECAFOOT.
It is not clear yet what the conditions of his bail are.
