Yaounde: Man escapes from being killed by mob, accused of raping daughter

A man has narrowly escaped death from an angry mob in Yaoundé, centre Region of Cameroon.

The incident occurred in the Nkoabang neighbourhood.

The man in his 50s, whose name MMI got as Yaya Blaise, is accused of raping and impregnating his 22-year-old daughter.

Yaya Blaise was reported by his daughter whom the local inhabitants caught stranded and in tears around the neighbourhood.

When approached, they discovered that she was pregnant.

In the course of questioning her, she revealed that she is a victim of repeated sexual assault from her father.

“This pregnancy is from my father who has been raping me for the past years. He has been threatening to kill me if i ever open my mouth to tell anyone. In fear, I kept quiet and endured till I got pregnant. Even with this pregnancy, he has continued the act. Left on my own, I no longer know what to do. As you see me here, I am stranded” the young lady recounted.

Shocked by the revelation, inhabitants of the neighbourhood immediately stormed the man’s house, dragged him out before severely torturing him.

One of the inhabitants is said to have proposed that the accused be taken to the gendarmerie brigade for the law to take its course. That is how the accused rapist cheated death .
