Dead man comes back to life in Yaounde after two weeks
There was bewilderment in the Chapelle Ngoussou neighbourhood in Yaoundé last Saturday when a man supposed to have been dead and buried appeared alive in their home in the area claiming he was back from a journey.
Endomo Essomba Lucas, a carpenter by profession died on 7 July 2023 at the Jamot Hospital and a death certificate effectively issued, showed up at the residence, to the astonishment of his wife and family members.
He was given a chair on which he sat but no family member dared touch him on account of his mysterious reappearance.
An eyewitness told The Horizon Newspaper on condition of anonymity that family members presented the death certificate of Endomo to prove to the public that he was actually the one who came back to life.
His widow was on hand to attest to the story but was not brave enough to embrace him.
Speaking to the press, Endomo said he was back from a journey and was ready to prove he was not fake.
Born on 21 July 1965, Endomo died on 7 July 2023 after an illness at the Jamot Hospital at the age of 68. His corpse was deposited at a Hospital close to his home and subsequently buried with funeral rites performed.
Many were startled when he showed up at their family residence claiming he had come back alive.
Observers have taken the story with a pinch of salt, wondering if it was not another tall story as the one spun months ago about a man seen transforming into a snake to eat up a woman she was carrying in her car in the same Ngoussou neighbourhood.
