Yaounde: One dead in funeral procession of CPDM Parliamentary Group Leader

An accident that occurred during the funeral procession of Jean Bernard Ndongo Essomba, former president of the CPDM parliamentary group in the national assembly has left one person dead.

The tragic incident occurred in the course of the funeral procession in Nkol-Ebae, Lékié division of the Centre region, this Friday, April 21, 2023.

The vehicle involved in the accident was transporting the 4th wife of the late Honourable Jean Bernard.

The incident was a result of a collision between the said vehicle and a truck transporting sand. One dead was recorded on the spot while three others sustained serious injuries.

The official funeral in honor of the former president of the CPDM parliamentary group began yesterday Thursday, April 20 with the removal of the body at the mortuary of the Yaoundé general hospital.

Parliamentary tributes were then paid to him at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé. His burial is scheduled for this Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Nkol Ebae in the Lekié division, Centre region.
