Yaoundé: Residents stranded after house demolitions against Macron’s visit

Some residents of Etoudi, Yaoundé, Center Region of Cameroon have been left stranded after their houses were demolished.

The action was carried out by the City Council with the aim of giving a more pleasant face to the city of seven hills. It was done just prior to the visit of the French President, Emanuel Macron.

Tears poured out in the city of Yaoundé following the visit of the French President. It was not about tears of joy, because several inhabitants saw their homes being destroyed on the section that leads to the Yannick Noah club in Etoudi.

In addition, several roads were equally redeveloped in preparation for the state visit. The population of Yaoundé regrets if it was necessary to wait for the arrival of the French Head of State to carry out such work in the capital.

The Yaounde City Council it should be noted, is in an offensive against urban disorder. In addition to impounding commercial motorbikes circulating in restricted areas, multiple homes and structures built within permits and in risky areas.
