Two persons have been arrested for killing a gendarme officer whose name we got as, Joël Tibap.
They alleged killers were arrested in Mbalmayo, a town in the Centre Region of Cameroon, and presented to the press on December 19, 2022.
According to reports, the duo who happened to be in custody at Gendarmerie d’Etetak are accused of having murdered Joël Tibap on November 28, 2022.
One of the killers was a fake military officer.
“They claim to have untied that day the rope tied on the door of the cell, then in the evening, murdered the gendarme by knocking him with two vehicle batteries to the head, before fleeing,” reported ActuCameroun.
Left alone on guard after an express request from his colleagues for an intervention that night, Tibap passed away in his pool of blood.
Investigations carried out by the colleague of the deceased led to the arrests weeks later.
