A young girl whose name MMI got as Hélène Prudence Abomo, has been killed and burnt up in the Éleveurs neighborhood in Yaoundé, Centre region of Cameroon.
Reports from the neighborhood confirmed that the lifeless body of the young girl was found tied up and charred in her room at her home at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30.
“When we realized fire emanating from her home, we started to pour water through the window and on the roof. By then, we had no idea whether she was in or not,” revealed a neighbour of the victim.
According to our witness, Abomo was seen on the same day, boarding a motorbike toward the Ngousso chapel. No one could therefore suspect that she was at home at the time of the incident.
After successfully getting access to the residence, the rescuers made the gruesome discovery. A calcined body, lying on the bed, hands, and feet tied.
“We entered, the bedroom door was open, and we saw someone lying, completely burned. She was unrecognizable but it was her, we started crying. We went out and then the police arrived sometime later” adds our source.
An investigation has been opened to bring forth clarity to the tragic incident.
