“You have the Power to stop the killings and stop it today,” CPP President tells Biya

As Southern Cameroonians commemorate today’s 60th Anniversary of their Independence, the head of the Cameroon People’s Party, Edith Kah Walla has told the President Paul Biya to resolve the Anglophone crisis.

In a statement released today by the CPP President, she insinuated that Southern Cameroonians who came before did not make wrong choices of a union with Cameroon, but rather that the mistakes were made by the way of administration. This was of administration, she explained, was done without taking to consideration he special cultural, linguistics, social and political needs of the Anglophones amongst other things.

“You have the power to stop the killings and stop it today. You started the violence and you can end it.” She asserted.

The situation, the CPP President said, could be remedied by releasing all non violent prisoners held within the context of the crisis, initiating dialogue starting in the 13 divisions of the South West and North West Regions, and calling a ceasefire.

Addressing the Armed Ambazonian fighters, Kah Walla suggested that now is the time to evaluate their motives for the struggle. “No matter the intentions we must look at the results,” she opined.

“The government armed forces are killing, you are killing; the government armed forces are raping, you are raping. It is time to do an honest evaluation.” She urged them.
