13 members of ministerial team to Far North injured in car crash

Reports say Housing and Urban Development minister, Celestine Ketcha Courtes has been rushed to hospital in Mora, Far North region.

She was one of 13 persons injured in a road accident today in the Far North region.

Images show how four vehicles were destroyed in the incident. Our reporter on the ground however says, it is early to determine the exact number of casualties.

Occupants of the vehicle were part of a convoy made up of seven ministers led by Territorial Administration Minister, Atanga Nji Paul.

They were on a four-day working visit to the region, affected by floods recently. One of the key issues raised as the team headed to the region, was the poor road network in the Far North, worsened by the recent floods that left hundreds of families homeless.

The situation of the other injured persons remains unknown at the moment.
