15MFCFA pension of 75-year-old retired teacher goes ‘missing’

The pension of a tired Head Teacher, Nobert Ngnitedem, 75 said to be 15 million FCFA going by a document that surfaced to the public recently is nowhere to be found. Ngnitedem, is said to have served the state for 35 years.

He has been on retirement for 15 years without receiving a dime in the form of pension.

But since Monday, the state has been sending out pay forms indicating the obligations paying requested in the Enough is Enough Movement. An official document circulating online indicates the sum of 15 million FCFA has been allocated for him as pension fees accrued over the years for the retiree.

The Cameroon News Agency, CNA however reports that the senior citizen is yet to receive a dime and is clueless about the said document. Ngnitedem, it reports, says has not received any money despite the document circulating on social media stating his pension had been paid.

It is feared some mischievous persons might be seeking to take advantage of the retired civil servant. Ngnitedem is one of thousands of retired teachers struggling to get what is theirs decades after retirement.

Many others have gone for even up to 20 years or more within any pay. The cumbersome demands and bureaucratic processes involved only worsens their situation.
