17-year-old girl commits suicide in Kribi court

A 17-year-old girl has committed suicide in the town of Kribi of the South Region.

The teenager reportedly jumped from the uppermost floor of the courthouse to the ground to commit the heinous act.

Soppy Nelly Jordanne who had been detained at the Central Prison in Kribi was in court for hearing when the incident occured.

“She was being questioned by the judge when she suddenly said, she would prefer to take away her own life,” a source said.

Our source added that Soppy had insisted on her innocence from the day she was arrested, and therefore “refused to be jailed for what she knew nothing about.”

She died before a rescue team could arrive at the incident ground, MMI learned.
