The 17th edition of the Miss Cameroon pageant concluded in spectacular fashion at the Yaoundé Sports Complex, with Raïssa Noura Njikam emerging as the winner, taking home the coveted crown. Vanessa Gaëlle Foe (Centre) and Aïshatou Bobo (Adamaoua) were crowned the first and second runner-ups, respectively.
The prestigious crown was bestowed upon the Miss North Region winner by Cameroon’s First Lady, Chantal Biya.
The suspense was palpable as the moment to unveil Miss Cameroon 2024 arrived. Amidst a grand ceremony held on June 28 at the Sports Palace in Yaoundé, graced by the presence of First Lady Chantal Biya, candidate number 7, Noura Njikam, emerged victorious, outshining 26 other contestants from the country’s ten regions. She takes over the crown from Princesse Issié, Miss 2023. Her journey to the coveted title was accompanied by Vanessa Foe, Miss Centre, as the first runner-up, and Aïchatou Bobo, Miss Adamaoua, as the second runner-up.
The 27 contestants showcased their elegance, grace, and intelligence throughout the competition, captivating the audience with their poise and confidence. The glamorous evening was further enhanced by electrifying performances from renowned artists such as Amadie, Lil Ngono (Nyangono du Sud), and Bertrand Clou. The event was graced by the presence of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Pierre Ismaël Bidoung Mkpatt, the President of the Miss Cameroon Organising Committee, Ingrid Solange Amougou, and First Lady Chantal Biya, along with a host of distinguished guests.
Noura Njikam’s victory marks the culmination of her dedication, hard work, and unwavering spirit. Her reign as Miss Cameroon 2024 is poised to be an inspiring chapter, filled with opportunities to promote her advocacy and serve as a role model for young women across Cameroon.
