The residents of Nchuoboh in Bamenda II were shocked this Friday morning to find the body of a man lying at the entrance of the Presbyterian Church Ngomgham. According to local sources, the deceased individual, named Azieh, is believed to have met their unfortunate demise the previous night.

A woman who came across the disturbing scene reported seeing bloodstains on the road at Nchuoboh Junction. Intrigued, she decided to follow the trail, which eventually led her to the entrance of the church where Alphonse’s body was discovered. “It’s possible that his killers murdered him at Nchuoboh Junction and then dragged him to this position,” she speculated.

The victim’s body displayed unmistakable evidence of torture, intensifying the couommunity’s shock and outrage. He appeared to have suffered injuries to his legs and had wounds on various parts of his body. “It appears that his killers subjected him to torture,” remarked a resident of Nchuoboh, while the deceased’s relatives arrived to claim the body.

Azieh was well-known in the area for selling second-hand clothing, often called “Okrika.” The tragic loss of life has deeply impacted the community, leaving them in a state of both fear and sorrow.

There are unconfirmed allegations that individuals from the defence forces apprehended him at approximately 8 pm and subsequently ended his life around 2 am, during the early hours of this morning, before disposing of his remains.

The night preceding the discovery was filled with unease for the residents of Nchuoboh, as they recounted hearing intense gunfire starting at around 2 a.m. The piercing sounds of gunshots echoed through the night, intensifying the mounting unease in the vicinity.
