The Cameroon Airline Corporation (Camair-Co) has assured passengers that flights will continue as scheduled, despite a recent strike threat from its pilots over poor working conditions.

In a statement, Camair-Co management confirmed that scheduled flights will proceed without disruption, noting that they have initiated a dialogue with the aggrieved pilots to address their concerns.

“Camair-Co reassures its valued customers that, following the strike notice filed by one of the pilots’ unions, a constructive dialogue has been initiated under the supervision of the competent authorities,” the airline said in the statement.

Passenger concerns over the quality of services offered by Camair-Co have been rising, with the government-run airline facing scrutiny.

The pilots’ union, in their strike notice, listed several grievances, including allegations of racial discrimination, flight safety issues, inadequate English proficiency, and low wages.

They also accused Camair-Co of neglecting the maintenance of new aircraft.

Despite these concerns, the airline assured the public that “the company’s flight program continues normally under usual optimal safety conditions.”
