The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has addressed a query note to Indomitable Lions Coach, Marc Brys, offering him 72 hours to respond to questions relating to a recent interview he granted Belgian news outlet, Dhnet.

Fecafoot is expecting the coach to confirm or refute the authenticity of statements attributed to him in the interview, one of which states that “Eto’o succeeded as a footballer and for the rest he failed”.

Upon the release of the interview, football icon, Samuel Eto’o, who is the president of the Cameroon Football Federation, convened an emergency committee meeting at the federation’s headquarters in Yaounde to discuss the interview.

A statement released by the FA after the meeting indicates that there will be severe consequences for Brys if what is attributed to him in the interview is true.

“We urge you to give us, within 72 hours, written explanations relating to these actions which, if proven, would seriously contravene the principles of good collaboration, including that of respect due to hierarchy and the duty to reserve attached to your duties.”

On August 17, 2024, Dhnet published an interview in which Marc Brys talked elaborately on his relationship with Samuel Eto’o and Fecafoot since he was appointed Coach in April.

Brys also mentioned the verbal confrontation he had with Eto’o at the Fecafoot headquarters on May 28, and stated that he wasn’t afraid of Samuel Eto’o.

It was predictable that Fecafoot would react to the interview, given the accusations Brys made against Eto’o, including his alleged dictatorship on the men’s national team.
