President Paul Biya has appointed new officials to key foreign missions, in a move signaling further changes within Cameroon’s diplomatic landscape,. The appointments, announced through separate decrees, come shortly after Biya’s return from an extended stay abroad.

The diplomatic shake-up affects Cameroon’s embassies in France, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon.

In one of the decrees signed on October 22, Colonel Jing Emmanuel Achu, who served as the Military Attaché to the embassies of Cameroon in the DRC, Republic of Congo, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, with residence in Kinshasa, has been recalled to Cameroon.

Captain Bokwe Robert will replace him, taking on the new role of Military Attaché for Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi.

Evina Ndo née Melokol Georgette Nathalie has taken on the role of First Secretary at Cameroon’s embassy in Paris, France. Previously, she held the position of Director of the Binguela Practicing School of Agriculture (EPAB) and is a Labour and Social Insurance Administrator by profession.

These changes follow a series of adjustments made since President Biya’s return to Cameroon. His first move was a reshuffle within the military, appointing new officials in the central administration, the navy, and the air force.

Speculation is growing that a broader cabinet reshuffle may soon follow.
