The Ministry of Secondary Education in Cameroon has officially announced a rescheduling of key national examinations initially set for Friday, June 6, 2025. This change comes in recognition of the Tabaski feast, also known as Eid al-Adha, which coincides with the original exam date.

The Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga, issued a press release from Yaoundé, informing candidates sitting for the BEPC, CAP, BEP, BP, Baccalauréats, Probatoires, and GCE examinations about the date change. On Monday, June 9, 2025, we will administer the affected papers, keeping the previously scheduled times unchanged.

“The Minister of Secondary Education hereby informs candidates for the following examinations: BEPC, CAP, BEP, BP, Baccalauréats, Probatoires, and GCE, as well as invigilators and the entire education community, that examinations scheduled to take place on Friday, 6 June 2025 coincide with the Tabaski feast,” the release stated.

“Consequently, the papers originally set for Friday, 6 June 2025, will now take place on Monday, 9 June 2025. The times remain unchanged.”

The directive ensures that Muslim students, teachers, and invigilators across the country fully participate in the religious celebration without academic conflict. The ministry emphasised its commitment to inclusivity and respect for the cultural and religious practices of all citizens.

The notice also extends to the entire educational community, including exam invigilators and administrators, reinforcing the importance of coordinated efforts to accommodate the new date.

This decision highlights the Cameroonian government’s efforts to harmonise national events with the country’s diverse cultural and religious calendar.

Stakeholders should consult their local education offices or visit the Ministry’s official channels for further information.
