The Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, has called for collective efforts to restore peace and security in the region, declaring that “enough is enough” as kidnappings and other security challenges continue to affect communities.
Speaking Thursday, October 15, during the launching of the government’s community dialogue initiative in Bamenda, the Governor said many traditional rulers have returned to their villages, describing this as an encouraging sign in efforts to restore normalcy in the region that has battled armed conflict since 2017.
On education, he expressed concern over the continued operation of unauthorised schools while calling for more efforts to address the situation.
On infrastructure, the Governor reported an overall execution rate of 52 percent for development projects. He said the Ndu-Nkambe project had reached 100 percent completion, while work on the Ndu section stood at 65 percent. He also described progress on the Ring Road and other infrastructure projects as satisfactory.

However, he acknowledged that insecurity remained a major concern, particularly along the Ndop roads, the Bambui stretch, and roads in Bui Division, where he said kidnappings are increasing
Governor Lele Lafrique commended the security forces for their professionalism and thanked the population for their collaboration. He urged residents to work with the authorities and security forces to tackle insecurity and support efforts to combat separatist fighters.
He also called on people to return to their communities and contribute to development, stressing that unity and collective action are necessary to restore lasting peace in the North West Region.
