Gunshots in Bamkikaay, Kakikaikom and Kikaikilaiki in Bui Division in the North West Region of Cameroon has sent locals fleeing. The populace suggests that the shooting is to frighten armed fighters believed to have erected camps in bushes in the localities.
Some inhabitants of Bamenda were today stranded with no taxi to transport them to Bambili in Tubah Subdivision. The traditional authority and mayor, reportedly died of a heart attack, after learning that his name was taken out of the list of CPDM candidates to run for the Mayo Darle municipal. The rejection of his name by party officials, mean he will immediately lose his position as mayor, once elections are organized.
Panic gripped inhabitants of Bepanda Omnisport in Douala V subdivisions today following an explosion around the football pitch. An explosive with source still unknown detonated at one end of the football edifice, leaving part of the newly constructed wall of the stadium damaged. The sound from the explosion caused panic, with locals running in all directions, locals say.

A brawl has taken place between several young people at Ndogpassi I, a neighbourhood in the Douala III Subdivision. According to eyewitnesses, it started when two commercial motorbike riders demanded a reward from a youngster who picked up a FCFA 10.000 note not far from Carrefour Chefferie. The young man opted to hand them FCFA 1,500 but was attacked by the duo who wanted more. The boy is said to have been taken to the Logbaba District Hospital for treatment after violent altercations with other young people who got involved on the brawl.
Cameroon Karate expert, Pierre Kaleu has died at the Dja Hospital in Bandjoun where he was receiving intensive care in the emergency department. The champion became the first Cameroonian to get a black belt in judo. He did so in 1963.
