Parents of children studying in Universities in Wuhan, China have launched a campaign to bring them back home.

In a bid to do so, they have created the “Bring Back our Children” association in Douala.

Talking to the press, one of the leaders of the association noted that the action comes after the indifference of Cameroon authorities to the plight of the students living in the Chinese metropolis where the Coronavirus was first discovered.

“We are shocked by the silence of the Cameroonian authorities on this subject. Our children are in danger of death there” the leaders said.

Noting with dismay the silence of the Cameroon embassy in Beijing, the leader adds that there is “no one to tell our children there what is being done to protect them from repatriation as other foreign governments do. If the Cameroonian government continues to remain silent, we will go to Yaoundé and march to Etoudi”.

Cameroon students based in Wuhan had earlier written to president Paul Biya, asking for support in different forms.

The Cameroon Embassy in China they added has failed to give them any official response, making matters worse for them.
